Treaty of Waitangi Pre 1840

In this writing i talk about pre 1840

Pre 1840

        Why was the Treaty Made

The people wanted a treaty for trading the Pakeha would give nails, blankets,Muskets and bibles while the Maori gave Flax, seals, whales, trees, food and land.

Maori wanted the muskets because they wanted to be the strongest tribe in the war. Maori would also receive bibles because knowledge was power and many maori were interested in Christianity. Nails and blankets were popular to trade .

Pakeha would get such things as whales where all parts of the creature which would be used for clothes, umbrellas and perfume. Seals Could also make Different things because they were easy to kill. Other things that the Maori would give pakeha were flax, trees, food and land.

#9 is Alive

We are learning to use google drawing to design a shirt of our choice.

Each week we discover more about what we can learn in our digital world. Observing our students create & innovate has been inspiring especially as we are also using ‘tinkercad’ for our work with Geometry and Measurement at the moment.

#9 is alive is about showing our creative side using google drawings to create a Shirt using word art, importing a png. and colour tones.

What can you design? How did you create it?

Have a go and let us know what you have designed but most of all learn new skills and have fun.

Our Progress :Trash to Fashion

All the photos you see is our progress in trash to fashion and how we are going.

This is the front and  back  of the dress Namoe will be wearing.

We made this dress out  of

1:Black rubbish bag(As the shirt)

2:Fake vines (As the belt)

3:An ie lava lava(As the bottom piece)

4: Plastic decoration as the cape(I  don’t know what the cape is)

My  Group and I have been trying to cope with all the hard stuff  and try to make it easy for us.

Rugby League shirt

Kia Ora, We are learning to create or design a shirt on google drawing. On this drawing we had to create a shirt that looks like people would wear it if they were playing rugby. this was very fun considering that we were creating a shirt of something that not only me but many others that like to play rugby. This was very fun because we were making shirts about anything we would like on it. What I had put on the shirt was just shapes and recolouring. Also what I added was my school name and put a number on it. This design came out better than I was expecting because it looked like someone was going to use it for inspiration.

Have you ever made a shirt?

Why Tane Mahuta Is the strongest

We are learning to see who is the strongest Maori god. On this persuasive writing we had to research who I thought was the strongest god. I didn’t research because I already knew Tane Mahuta was the strongest god. I knew he was the strongest because if he can separate both of the two creators of the gods then if he wanted he could do many other things. Also he is the god of the forest and that is one of the main parts of life and is the reason we breathe. The food that we eat is 80% from nature.

Who do you think is the strongest Maori god?

learning update

Howdy guys, it has been a long time since my last post but we have been learning about tinkercad and solar panels and trash to fashion. So let’s start with Tinkercad because it’s my favorite. So our teacher asked us if we can make our class in 3d on tinkercad  so that’s what we did and here’s mine. Well it’s not done yet but I will be adding a new feature to it. Ok now to my next topic Matariki DLO me and my little group have been doing the separation of RANGINUI and PAPATUANUKU  you can go check on it right down my tinkercad project.

Navigation Project

We are learning to make compasses in different ways.

On this Project we had to get a bowl but for us we had to use a tote tray and a couple of leaves. We also had to get a needle and a leaf then rub the needle onto the magnet so the needle can absorb the magnetism and follow the magnetic  field around the earth. We wanted to test if it works so we put a magnet facing north and we wanted the leaf and the needle to work. The needle didn’t work and we thought it was because we didn’t have enough magnets on the leaf. So then we wanted to test if it was the difference between cold and hot water so we tested and still there were no results. For the next updates we will try to scratch as many magnets onto the needle.
